Effects of Treatment of Varicose Veins on the Occurrence of Complications and to Improve the Quality of Life: Pilot Study?

According to statistics, the disorder of venous circulation of the lower extremities is one of the most common diseases in the world. Although treatment of Varicose Veins the lower extremities (VV) advanced with the use of non-invasive-endovenous procedures, the prognosis in the short term is not satisfactory. The aim of this paper was to examine the results of treatment of VV on the occurrence of complications and to improve the Quality of Life (QoL) 1 year after the Operative (OP) treatment or Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA).
Method: Patients with VV that were operated with the classical surgical method were OP group (n-36) and who are treated EVLA were EVLA group (n-36). We examined patients clinically after 1 year of treatment, while their QoL examined with the Venous Clinical Severity Score (VCSS) questionnaire in which clinical features were estimated by 9 characteristics clinical weight of : 0-absence, 1-easy, 2-moderate, 3-diffi cult.

Hematological and Pathological Studies of Bacteria Associated with Mobile Phones from Handlers of Diverse Lifestyles in the Rural Community.

Mobile phone has been source of microorganisms that cause diseases of public health concerns. In a study, one-fifth of cellular phones examined were found to harbor pathogenic bacteria indicating that these devices may serve as vehicles of transmission. Swab samples were collected aseptically from the phones of different handlers like motor bike riders, food vendors, meat sellers and nursing mothers.
Bacteria isolation and identification were carried out using pour plating technique with distinctive morphological and biochemical characteristics. The pathogenicity of the bacterial isolates was investigated through oral inoculation into albino rats. Eighty-eight (88) bacteria were isolated and selected based on their resistance to antibiotics for pathological study. Loss in weight was observed in some albino rat. Along with reduction in the packed cell volume, hemoglobin but raised white blood cell. Animal inoculated with Bacillus cereus showed meningitis like symptom after the first week of inoculation. Also, there were short and stunted villi; low crystal depth with necrotic debris in the lumen. It has been observed that cell phones may harbor pathogenic bacteria and can subsequently plays role as fomite in the disease transmission. Therefore, the need to educate community phone handlers in the rural area becomes imperative.

Why is it important to publish the research paper in good publication?

Good journals are not necessarily the same - but in many cases a correlation exists.

Basically there are two reasons why people publish their research work:

1. To make everyone in the field aware of the research they have lead. Their research serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas among scientists, young researchers, students and readers from all over the world.
2. To gain respect of their peers and improve their CV. So that when they apply for the next job, they can objectively prove that they are indeed doing noble research.

You might think that just making your research publicly accessible on the internet should be sufficient for point 1, but it’s not true. Most researchers/ scientists/ professors can’t keep pathway of the thousands of articles published every year in their field. They tend to follow some journals (by subscribing to emails of the table of contents of every issue) and attend a few conferences to be aware of current growth in the field. If you publish your work at an unknown site that is accessible to very few people, it is very likely that it will be lost in the enormous volume of research being produced.

Good journals also help your research through a strict peer-review. In my experience, peer reviews of most of my papers has been very useful. In most cases, the peer review helps you to improve the quality of the paper. And once you’ve had enough articles peer-reviewed, you tend to understand the common errors that should be avoided and in general become a better communicator of ideas.
